Vacation’s Attire Day 1

Coming back to my beachside hometown for a few days was the perfect excuse to bring out some of the more summery alternatives in my wardrobe and throw some layering and accessories into the mix. Enjoying a more casual, relaxed vibe, Figueira da Foz is a prime example of how scorching heat gives place to chilly evenings, meaning everything from cardigans and sports coats up to sweaters is a common alternative for a walk around town. Knowing in advance what I was up for, I packed accordingly, aiming to have several alternatives which allowed me to stay in tune with a vacation feel.

This chambray-like linen popover shirt is one of my favourite summer purchases and proof, that yet again, there are some nice steals at major retailers like Zara. The beautiful shade and details such as the hidden button down collar, front zip closure and biased side pockets, give it a nice twist and versatility; moreover, the quality of the linen used is surprisingly reasonable when compared to other lower-end labels. The unique shade goes perfect with the sand/pinkish tone on the relaxed chinos, which are paired with grey fringed boat shoes. Finally the bold ethnic scarf stands out on its own, but also ties everything together by picking different hues from all the remaining pieces and accessories such as bracelets and signet ring.

Details: linen popover shirt by Zara, v-neck tee by Levi’s, cotton chinos by Our Legacy (tailored), fringe boat shoes by Buttero, ethnic scarf by Purificacion Garcia, watch by Daniel Wellington, beaded bracelets by Viola Milano, vintage silver signet ring.
